About Me

Welcome. I’m glad you’re here.

If you’re considering therapy, you may be holding uncertainty, hope, or even a bit of hesitation. Reaching out for support can feel vulnerable. My intention is to make this process feel steady, respectful, and as easeful as possible. My name is Amanda LeForte (she/her), and I am a Registered Social Worker providing counselling in Regina and virtually across Saskatchewan.

At the heart of my work is the belief that our struggles make sense in the context of our lives. Anxiety, shutdown, reactivity, over-functioning - these are not personal failures. They are often protective adaptations shaped by our nervous systems, our relationships, and our experiences.

I practice from a relational, trauma-informed lens, integrating Somatic Experiencing and other evidence-based approaches. I value moving at a pace that feels manageable and collaborative. Therapy with me is not about pushing or fixing - it is about building safety, understanding patterns, and creating meaningful, sustainable change. The therapeutic space is one where you can feel met with steadiness, curiosity, and respect.

I lived most of my life on unceded Syilx territory in Kelowna, British Columbia, and I am now honoured to live and work in Regina on Treaty 4 territory — the traditional lands of the Nehiyawak, Nakota, Dakota, Lakota, and Saulteaux peoples, and the homeland of the Métis Nation. I am of mixed ancestry, Nlaka’pamux Nation on my mother’s side, and English settler ancestry on my father’s side. I hold deep gratitude for the teachings, histories, and responsibilities that come with both. These parts of my identity shape how I understand relationship, community, and healing.

I completed both my Bachelor of Social Work and Master of Social Work (clinical specialization) at UBC Okanagan. I also hold a Graduate Certificate in Values-Based Leadership from Royal Roads University.

Ongoing professional development is important to me. I continue to deepen my training so that I can offer thoughtful, evidence-based care that reflects current research and best practice.

When I’m not working, I value time with my husband and our two children. I enjoy reading, listening to podcasts, being outdoors, and tending (with beginner enthusiasm) to my garden. I’m a lover of live music and theatre.

If you have questions or would like to connect before booking, you’re welcome to reach out. I’m happy to help you determine whether working together feels like a good fit.
